I help children and teens that experience intense and overwhelming feelings. Feelings can be so big and hard to understand, and I would like to help you navigate the emotions while feeling seen, heard, and known.

WHAT I DO…

My passion is to help kids thrive! I do my best work with kids and teens who need a safe space and compassionate approach to move forward from loss, anxiety, and self-doubt. I love working with parents to help them change patterns and interactions with their child/teen so that they can see massive shifts in the home environment using practical skills that really work. I also enjoy walking with children, teens, and their parents through grief, loss, adoption, and other life transitions.

MY CLINICAL EXPERIENCE…

I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor here at Thompson Child Therapy. I completed my year-long internship here at TCT while completing my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD. During my internship here I received training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Child Centered Play Therapy and continue to expand my training here at TCT while working under direct supervision. I received my undergraduate degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA with concentrations in Elementary Education and Social Science, which has been a perfect foundation for working with kids and their families.

WHEN I AM NOT WORKING WITH MY CLIENTS…

I’m at home spending time with my hubby, our four awesome kids, and our playful goldendoodle, Bailey. To recharge and have fun, I love to spend time with my family and friends, check out new restaurants, drink some delicious coffee, and go for a run with my husband (but only when it’s warm outside!).
